On the occasion of the inauguration of its new building and the completion of renovation of the Centre William Rappard, the WTO opened its doors to the public on 30 June 2013 from 10:00 until 16:00.
The opening ceremony began with a film about the WTO building in the Council Room. Director-General Pascal Lamy then launched the Open Day with the participation of Chairman of the General Council Amb. Shahid Bashir, Federal Councillor Johann N. Schneider-Ammann, Chairman of the Council of State Charles Beer and Geneva Mayor Sandrine Salerno.
